Here's a dead pawn, vintage, Peyote bird ring that we purchased from a well known pawn trader in western New Mexico.
Handmade in the style that was introduced by Tommie Singer, this ring features a hand shaped, silver, Peyote Bird that is very nicely adorned with turquoise and red coral chip inlay.
This size 4+3/4 ring weighs a very comfortable 5 grams and it measures 1+3/8" long. Unfortunately the markings that originally were on the back of the ring are worn down so we cannot read the artist's hallmark nor any indication of the silver content.
Due to State laws the trader couldn't provide us with the artist's name, however he did say the artist is Navajo and that the ring was made during the late 1960's or early 1970's.
Despite it's age and travels this old beauty is still in very good condition. There are no missing chips and the silver on the ring's face shows only minimal wear.
This stunning and very well made ring will make a terrific addition to your jewelry collection, or a great gift.
