This is a pair of stunning, red coral & sterling silver earrings that were handmade by the very talented Zuni artist Philander Gia.

Made in the traditional Zuni needlepoint style, the earrings measure 3+1/4" long and they weigh a comfortable 16 grams (8 grams each).

Each time we visit the Zuni Pueblo, and get to watch the artists make their jewelry and crafts, we're amazed that they're able to work in such minute detail. The Pueblo is commonly called "a village of artists" and pieces of art, such as these earrings, are good examples of why the Pueblo has attained that nickname.

Can you imagine how many hours of very tedious work it took Philander to cut and shape each tiny piece of coral and to make the "itsy-bitsy" saw tooth bezels that he set the pieces of coral in?

NOTE: Please excuse the dark spots that appear on the silver in some of the pictures. They are simply reflections of our camera and they do not exist on the earrings.
