Here's an absolutely gorgeous, large size, sterling silver and multi-stone inlay "bear" pendant that we purchased on our recent buying trip through western New Mexico and Arizona.
Created by the incredibly talented Navajo artist Calvin Begay (who is of the nicest people we've ever met) this pendant is a terrific example of exquisite, museum quality, Native American jewelry.
Calvin made this pendant by inlaying various shaped pieces of turquoise, lapis, black jet, purple spiny oyster and lab created opal into the bear shaped silver base. The quality of the detail work on this pendant is as good as any that we've seen. Calvin even adorned the bale with similar inlay work.
The pendant measures 1+7/8" long (including the bale) and is 2" wide. It weighs 26 grams, is stamped sterling and has Calvin's hallmark.
The chain that appears in some of the pictures is not included with this pendant, however we do include a different silver chain at no cost.
