This is a beautiful, Native American made, Spiny Oyster and sterling silver pendant that was completely hand made by the very talented Navajo artist Jacob D. Morgan.
Jacob is a sixth generation silversmith (and one of the sons of the world renowned Master Silversmith Harry Morgan) who creates one-of-a-kind pieces of museum quality jewelry. We just picked this pendant and several other pieces up from Jacob, and he gave us a birds-eye view of how he works. Check out our artist's section for pictures.
This pendant features an highly polished piece of orange Spiny Oyster that is set in a hand made saw tooth silver bezel and surrounded by a hand twisted fine silver rope. On each side there are 3 silver raindrop beads, and Jacob also applied 9 tiny raindrop beads at both the top and bottom edge. As usual, his attention to detail is amazing.
The bale is also hand made, and has hand stamped designs decorating it. It has a matching ring that is also for sale in our store.
The back of the pendant is stamped sterling and has Jacob's hallmark.
(The necklace shown is not included in the sale, however we do have it available for sale if you're interested)
