Here's an unusual, silver naja with an applied chip inlay peyote bird (with an 18" silver chain) that we purchased at an estate sale near Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The silver naja has an applied chip inlay bird at the top of the naja, and there are 3 handmade bench beads on a central silver wire that crosses the naja that dangle down to the tips. This highly unusual naja is difficult to describe in words, so we'll let the pictures displayed above describe it for you.

The naja is 2+1/2" long and 2+1/2" wide. The silver chain measures 18" long.

Together they weigh a comfortable 31 grams.

The back of naja has the artist's hallmark at one tip, but there is no stamp indicating the purity of the silver.

Despite their age and travels the naja and chain are still in quite good condition. The silver shows some wear that's appropriate for it's age.

This terrific example of genuine, handmade, Native American art will certainly make a wonderful addition to anyone's jewelry collection.
