Here's a terrific, dead pawn, vintage, sterling silver & turquoise ring that we purchased from a well known pawn trader in northern Arizona, adjacent to the Navajo Reservation.
This size 5+1/4 ring features a stunning, multi-colored turquoise stone that is set in a silver bezel and is surrounded by a silver twisted rope. The stone is mounted on a nicely carved silver base that the artist adorned with silver raindrop beads. The ring's base is attached to a hand stamped, double wire band.
The ring weighs 8 grams, measures 1+1/8" long and is stamped sterling. As with much older Native American jewelry there is no artist's hallmark.
Due to State laws that regulate what information pawn traders are allowed to give out we were unable to determine the artist's name. However, we were told that it was made by a local Navajo artist during the 1970's.
Despite is age and travels this old beauty is in remarkably good condition. It shows practically no signs of wear and the stone is set firmly in it's bezel. It can use a bit of cleaning but we'll leave that for it's next owner. Our policy is that we do not clean dead pawn or vintage jewelry as most of our customers prefer to receive these older pieces "as is".
