This is a dead pawn, turquoise & sterling silver, petit point row bracelet that would make a wonderful addition to anyone's jewelry collection.
The bracelet measures 5" long on the inside, plus there's a gap of 1+1/2". It's 7/8" wide at the center and weighs a very comfortable 22 grams.
State laws regulate what information pawn traders are allowed to offer so we were unable to obtain the name of the artist from the trader we purchased it from. However, after doing our due diligence, we are reasonably sure that it was made by Jean Hattie, a very talented Zuni artist.
Please see the pictures displayed above as they will certainly describe this stunning example of handmade Native American art better than any words that we may write.
We don't know the age of the bracelet but we can tell you that it's in terrific condition. Each of the 35, beautifully matched, turquoise stones are set firmly in their bezels and the silver shows only minimal signs of wear.
The back of the bracelet is stamped sterling and has the artist's hallmark (H)
It can use a bit of cleaning but we'll leave that for it's next owner to take care of. Our policy is that we never clean dead pawn or vintage jewelry as most collectors prefer to receive these pieces "as is".
Some pictures are enlarged to show detail.
The coin that appears in one of the pictures is a quarter.
