Here's a vintage, dead pawn, malachite & silver, ring that we purchased from a well known pawn trader in northern Arizona, adjacent to the Navajo reservation.
This size 8+1/2 ring weighs 15 grams and measures 1+1/4" long.
It features an oval shaped malachite stone that is set in a silver bezel and surrounded by a silver twisted rope and a silver feather application.
Due to State laws that regulate what information pawn traders are allowed to give out we were unable to learn the name of the ring's maker. However we were told that it was made by a local Navajo artist probably during the 1960's - 1970's.
Despite it's age and travels this old beauty is still in pretty good condition. The stone is set firmly in it's bezel and it only shows some wear on the silver feather. The ring use a bit of cleaning but we'll leave that for it's next owner. Our policy is that we do not clean dead pawn or vintage jewelry as most of our customers prefer to receive these older pieces "as is".
