Santo Domingo Pueblo artist Maggie Garcia is once again making beautiful necklaces and earrings! Once the school year is over, she puts away her "real life" job and goes back to what she really loves doing...making beautiful, and affordable, hand crafted jewelry.
This is a terrific pair of dangle style earrings that Maggie just completed for us.
The earrings measure 2+3/8" long (including the ear wires) and are 1/2" wide. They weighed in at a very comfortable 14 grams (7 grams each)
Maggie made each of the earrings with two small slabs of picture jasper that she separated from each other with silver beads. She also placed silver beads between the ear wires and the top slabs of jasper.
As she does with most of her earrings, Maggie used thick slabs so they are stronger than those used by most other artists. This makes them more durable and less likely to crack if accidently dropped.
With warmer weather coming up quickly these earrings would make a terrific addition to your summer jewelry collection, or a wonderful gift for that special someone in your life.
