Here's a very unusual bolo tie that we purchased at an estate sale in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
As with most, vintage, Native American made jewelry there is no artist's hallmark nor any indication of the silver purity.
However the seller told us that it was originally purchased on the Navajo Reservation (during the 1950's) so we know that it was Navajo made.
The silver and turquoise butterfly is original but the tie, with the silver tips, was recently replaced as the original was badly worn.
The butterfly can use some cleaning but we'll leave that for it's next owner. Our policy is that we never clean vintage jewelry as most collectors prefer to receive these older pieces "as is".
This very unusual piece of handmade Native American art will certainly make a great addition to anyone's jewelry collection.
