Here's a dead pawn, sterling silver and turquoise money clip that was handmade by the remarkably talented Navajo artist Paul J. Begay
Paul made this money clip to features it's beautiful, highly polished turquoise stone (that he set in a silver bezel) and his terrific repousee style hand stampings.
As is typical of Paul's art the combination of the stone and the silver work is absolutely stunning.
This money clip measure 2" long and is 1" wide. It weighed in at at 32 grams.
The front of the clip was made with sterling silver and the back most likely was not.
Although we purchased this money clip from a pawn trader it is actually brand new. Unfortunately, due to the current economic situation, Paul (as well as many other Native American artists) has had to pawn some of his new jewelry because jewelry sales in general have dropped significantly. When items are "pawned", and not reclaimed within a specific time limit, the pawn trader has the right to sell those items.
This wonderful example of genuine, handmade, Native American art will certainly make a terrific addition to your personal jewelry collection, or wouldn't it make a wonderful gift for that special someone in your life?
