Here's a very attractive sterling silver barrette that we purchased at a jewelry & crafts co-op on the Navajo Reservation in northern Arizona.
The hair clip is adorned from end to end with hand stamped, Native American designs.
It measures 3" long, 3/4" wide, and it weighs 10 grams.
The front, hand stamped part is made of sterling silver. However, the clip portion is not Native American made and is not sterling.
We forgot to ask for the name of the artist that made the barrette, but since the co-op only sells jewelry and crafts that are made by local Navajo artists we know for sure that it is Navajo made.
Note: The dark area that appears in the first picture is just a reflection of our camera and is not on the barrette itself.
