This unusual looking dead pawn watch features two turquoise nuggets, two pieces of mother-of-pearl and two pieces of apple coral, all of which are set in plain silver bezels.
Also adorning the bracelet are eight applied silver flowers and two large silver hand stamped fans that appear to be holding the watch in position. The top and bottom edges have very nice hand stampings. The quartz watch looks as if it has just been replaced. The cuff itself is c 1940-50's.
The inside of the bracelet measures 5+3/4" plus there is a gap of 1+1/4". The center of the bracelet is 1+1/8" wide. The areas adjacent to the watch face are 1+3/8" wide. It weighed in at a significant 80 grams on our postage scale.
Due to the thickness of the silver there is very little flexibility. Therefore, any size adjustment should be made by a professional silversmith or jeweler.
The back has the artist's hallmark (JS) but there is no indication of the silver content. It appears as if someone recently cleaned the back of the bracelet. However, the front has a heavy coating of patina which leads us to believe that it was made with sterling silver.
