Here's a gorgeous pair of earrings that were handmade by the amazingly talented Navajo artist Mel Francis.

Mel made these earrings to feature their very colorful inlaid stones which include turquoise, lapis, spiny oyster and mother-of-pearl. Mel used a plain sterling silver bezel so as to not draw your attention from the beautiful colors of the stones.

If you look carefully you'll see that each piece of stone has beveled edges. This very time consuming detail work certainly adds to the overall appearance of the earrings.

Each post type earring measures 1+1/16" long and is 3/4" wide. They weighed in at 16 grams (8 grams each).

The back of the earrings are stamped sterling and have Mel's hallmark.
