Here's a fantastic sterling silver & turquoise bracelet that Alex just completed for us. He created this bracelet in his unique petroglyph style which features traditional Native American symbols applied to a textured and blackened sterling silver base.
To further adorn this piece Alex placed a "singing Grandma" design at the center with a turquoise stone just below her face. Alex often makes his jewelry in his "Grandma" style as a tribute to his grandmother who raised him as a child.
The inside of the bracelet measures 5+1/2" long plus there is a gap of 1+1/4". It is 1+3/4" wide at the center (including the turquoise stone) and, because Alex used very thick silver, it weighs a significant 133 grams.
The thick silver that Alex used in making this bracelet isn't seen too often these days with the price of silver being very high. Also, because the silver is very thick the bracelet has practically no flexibility so the size cannot be easily adjusted.
If you buy this bracelet, and want to adjust the size, we very strongly suggest that you have it done by a professional silversmith or jeweler. If you try to adjust the size yourself you may cause serious damage.
The inside of the bracelet is decorated with hand stamped dragonflies, is stamped sterling and has Alex's hallmark.
Alex is one of today's most collectible Native American jewelry artists and his art is generally on display in the Heard Museum in Phoenix, Arizona. The Heard is considered the "Smithsonian" of Native American jewelry.
