Here's a vintage, green jade & silver bracelet that we purchased from a well known pawn trader in western New Mexico.
This bracelet, which was made to fit a small woman's (or child's)
wrist, measures 4+3/4" long, plus there's a gap of 1+1/4". It weighs a very comfortable 8.2 grams. It has some flexibility so a small, careful,
size adjustment can be made.
As with most, older, Native American made jewelry there is no artist's hallmark nor any indication of the silver purity.
State laws regulate what information pawn traders are allowed to give out but we were informed that this nice little bracelet was made by a Navajo artist, probably during the 1960's.
Despite it's age this bracelet is still in very good condition. The jade stone is set firmly in it's bezel and it's not cracked nor chipped. The silver shows only minimal wear.
It can use a bit of cleaning but we'll leave that for it's next owner to do. Our policy is that we don't clean vintage jewelry as most collectors prefer to receive these older pieces "as is".
