Here's an unusual, turquoise chip inlay, Peyote Bird ring that we purchased from a well known pawn trader in western New Mexico.
This size 7 ring weighs a very comfortable 5.5 grams and it measures 1+1/8" long
There is no artist's hallmark nor any stamp indicating the silver purity.
State laws regulate how much information pawn traders are allowed to give out, however we were told that this ring was made by a Navajo artist.
What makes this ring unusual is that all of the chip inlay is turquoise. Most, Navajo made, Peyote bird rings were made with turquoise chip inlay on the bird's wings and body with red coral chip inlay on the bird's tail.
We don't know the ring's age but we can tell you that it's in "like new" condition. Every piece of turquoise is set firmly in it's place and the silver shows practically no signs of wear.
