This is a very old, chip inlay, turquoise & coral "wrap ring" that was made by Juan T. Singer, a member of the Tommy Singer family of well known, and very talented, Navajo artists.
This size 6 ring weighs 8.3 grams and the inside of the band is stamped with Juan's hallmark. It measures 1+7/8" long.
After doing some research we believe that this ring was made during the late 1960's or early 1970's.
There are very few pieces of Juan's jewelry available for sale these days so this a quite rare piece.
Despite it's age this wonderful old beauty is still in remarkably good condition. Each piece of turquoise and coral is still set firmly in it's place and the silver shows only very minimal signs of wear.
It can use a bit of cleaning and polishing, but we'll leave that for it's next owner. Our store policy is that we never clean vintage jewelry as most collectors prefer to receive these older pieces "as is".
Because it is a wrap ring (sometimes called a by-pass ring) it's size can be slightly adjusted. However, because of the chip inlay, we suggest that any size adjustment should be made by a professional jeweler or silversmith to prevent causing any damage to the ring.
