Here's another stunning pair of hoop style earrings that were handmade by the multi-talented, Santo Domingo Pueblo artist Maggie Garcia.
Maggie made these earrings with round turquoise rondelles that are separated from each other with olive shell heishi beads. There are also a few olive shell beads at the ends of the hoops.
These earrings weigh a very comfortable 18 grams (9 grams each) and they measure 3" long (including the ear wires).
We are the only sellers on the internet that sell Maggie's earrings, bracelets and necklaces and we're very proud to be able to represent her. Over the past several years she has become a very close friend of ours and she is certainly one of the nicest, and most generous, people that we have ever met.
After many years of working for the local school system, and making her jewelry as a hobby, Maggie recently retired and now spends most of her time making traditional Santo Domingo style jewelry. Also, because of her wide variety of talents, she now makes some of her jewelry in several more contemporary styles.
Maggie is well known for making beautiful but affordable jewelry, and these earrings are a perfect example of just that.
