Here's a very attractive Kokopelli pendant that we purchased at a roadside stand while traveling thru the Navajo Reservation in Arizona.
This very cute pendant was made by inlaying small chips of turquoise and red coral onto a hand carved sterling silver base.
The pendant measures 1+1/2" long, it weighs 4.2 grams and it's stamped sterling.
Unfortunately we didn't get the artist's name, but since these stands are set up to sell jewelry made only by local artists we know that it's maker is definitely Navajo.
This very attractive pendant would make a terrific addition to anyone's jewelry collection, or wouldn't it make a great gift?
In case you're not familiar with Kokopelli here some info we got from Wikipedia:
Kokopelli is a fertility deity, usually depicted as a humpbacked flute player who has been venerated by some Native American cultures in the Southwestern United States. Like most fertility deities, Kokopelli presides over both childbirth and agriculture. He is also a trickster god and represents the spirit of music.
