Here's another absolutely gorgeous pendant/pin that was handmade by the highly reknowned Santo Domingo Pueblo artist Mary Tafoya.
Using her signature multi-stone inlay technique, Mary made this piece by inlaying various stones onto a hand shaped serpentine base.
Some of the materials she used when making this pendant/pin are turquoise, lapis, apple coral, pipestone, charoite, leopard jasper, serpentine and a few we're not sure of.
The pendant/pin measures 2+3/4" long and 1+3/4" wide. It weighs a quite comfortable 43 grams.
Mary's hallmark is on the back.
Mary's necklaces, pendants, bracelets and earrings are highly sought after by many Native American jewelry collectors and are always in great demand. However, despite the demand for her art, Mary has chosen to not increase her prices.
This pendant/pin will certainly make a wonderful addition to your jewelry box. Or, wouldn't it make a great gift?
