Here's a quite unusual twisted wire bracelet that was crafted by the award winning Navajo/Zuni artist Alex Sanchez.
We asked Alex to make a few new styles for us and this bracelet, which he brought to us this morning, is quite different than anything we've seen him make in the past.
Alex created the bracelet's shank by hand twisting three lengths of heavy guage silver wire and joining them together. At the front he placed a stunning Red Mountain turquoise stone, which is set in a hand made serrated silver bezel, and on both sides of the stone are applied oval silver repousse designs. There are also round applied repousse style designs at both ends of the shank.
The inside measures 5+3/8" plus there is a gap of 1". The shank is 1/2" wide, and the cuff weighs 50 grams. It is stamped sterling and has Alex's hallmark. The bracelet has a bit of flexibility so a small size adjustment can be made.
